Coconut oil Coffee
Description
This recipe starts with hot black coffee mixed with coconut oil and blended with a frother until lightened in color and frothy. The coconut oil adds richness and a smooth mouthfeel. Optional ingredients include warmed coconut milk for additional creaminess, cinnamon for mild sweetness and warmth, and cayenne pepper for a gentle spicy kick.
The frother blends these together thoroughly, producing a uniform, creamy beverage served immediately. The combination of flavors offers a unique twist on traditional coffee, suitable for those seeking a richer texture and exotic notes.
Any leftover coconut oil coffee can be refrigerated for up to three days and enjoyed cold or reheated in the microwave without losing its basic flavor profile.
Ingredients
- 8-12 ounces coffee freshly brewed
- 1 ½ teaspoons coconut oil
- ½ cup coconut milk warm, from carton
- ⅛ teaspoon cinnamon optional
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
Instructions
- Pour hot coffee into a large mug along with the coconut oil. Use a frother to blend the coffee with the coconut oil until the mixture lightens in color and becomes frothy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add any extra ingredients you’d like including warm coconut milk, cinnamon and/or cayenne pepper and give it a quick blend for an additional 30 seconds.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Store unused coconut oil coffee in the refrigerator for up to three days and reheat in the microwave before drinking.
- Add optional cinnamon or cayenne pepper sparingly for subtle spice variations.
- Use a milk frother to combine coconut oil with coffee for the best texture and emulsification.
