Coffee Syrup
Description
The Coffee Syrup recipe combines granulated sugar and strong coffee, either freshly brewed or instant, heated to boil and then simmered to concentrate. As the mixture cooks for about 10 minutes, the sugar fully dissolves and the coffee flavor deepens, resulting in a syrup that is rich, sweet, and distinctly coffee-flavored. Cooling and straining remove any residual coffee grounds to produce a smooth syrup.
The syrup’s thick texture and balanced sweetness make it easy to incorporate cold or hot coffee flavor into beverages and recipes. It can also enhance desserts, cocktails, or breakfast items that benefit from a hint of coffee.
Store the coffee syrup in a sealed container in the refrigerator where it keeps for up to four weeks, allowing for ready use whenever coffee flavor is desired.
