Cold Brew Coffee (Or Cold Brew Espresso)
Description
Cold Brew Coffee (Or Cold Brew Espresso) involves steeping coarsely ground coffee beans in filtered cool or room temperature water for at least 12 hours in the refrigerator. For a regular cold brew, use 90 grams of coffee beans with 500 ml of water, while cold brew espresso uses the same weight of beans but only 250 ml of water for a stronger concentration. The coffee grounds float to the top after steeping and are strained through a coffee filter-lined funnel to produce a smooth and balanced cold coffee concentrate. Filters can be repeated if a cleaner cup is desired. The spent grounds can be discarded or composted. This method highlights the delicate and less-acidic profile of cold brewed coffee compared to hot brewed methods. Cold brew can be enjoyed chilled over ice or diluted with milk or cream according to taste.
