Cold Brew Coffee Recipe
Description
Cold Brew Coffee Recipe requires coarsely ground coffee steeped in cold, filtered water for 24 to 48 hours. The recipe offers two preparation methods: using a pitcher with a filter column that is rinsed and assembled before adding water and coffee grounds, or using a mason jar with grounds and water stirred together and then filtered after brewing. The long, cold steeping produces a smooth coffee extract with less acidity than hot brewing. Once brewed, the coffee is strained and stored in the refrigerator for ready use.
The flavor tends to be deep but gentle, with the option to dilute cold brew coffee before adding milk or sweeteners if a less intense taste is preferred. This makes the cold brew versatile for different drink preferences. The recipe is suited for making a batch to keep chilled and served on demand.
The simple ingredient list and straightforward steeping method require minimal attention after setup, allowing an easy approach to homemade cold brew coffee. Filtering well after brewing ensures clarity and a clean cup, which is important for cold coffee drinks.
