Cookie Dough Dip
Description
The preparation starts by beating softened butter and cream cheese until smooth, then adding milk and continuing until creamy. Brown sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla are mixed in to sweeten and flavor the dip evenly. Mini chocolate chips are folded in as the final step to give small bursts of chocolate throughout.
The dip has a smooth but slightly chunky texture from the chips and a sweet, buttery flavor that recalls classic cookie dough. It's easy to prepare ahead and serve chilled or at room temperature based on preference.
Due to the use of cream cheese and butter, it is important to keep the dip refrigerated and let it sit at room temperature before serving to regain spreadability.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 2 teaspoons milk or cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips plus more for garnish
Instructions
- Place the butter and cream cheese in the bowl of a mixer. Beat until smooth and creamy. Add the milk and beat until smooth.
- Add the brown sugar, powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then beat until smooth.
- Use a spatula to fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spoon into a bowl. Top with additional chocolate chips and serve.
Notes
- Ensure cream cheese and butter are softened thoroughly for a smooth, lump-free dip.
- The dip can be prepared up to three days ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
- Allow the dip to come to room temperature for at least 10 minutes before serving to soften it for easy spreading.
