Copycat Chili’s Salsa

Copycat Chili’s Salsa combines canned jalapeno peppers, diced onion, diced tomatoes with green chilies, whole peeled tomatoes, garlic salt, cumin, and a bit of sugar for balanced flavor. Processed in a food processor to a coarse blend, it recreates the tangy, mildly spicy salsa commonly served in restaurants. Optional fresh lime juice and cilantro add brightness and herbal notes to the chilled salsa, making it a versatile condiment or dip.

Description

The Copycat Chili’s Salsa features a blend of jalapeno peppers and yellow onions processed briefly to preserve some texture. The mixture is combined with canned diced tomatoes with green chilies and whole peeled tomatoes, offering a rich tomato base with slight heat. Garlic salt, cumin, and sugar round out the flavors, delivering a mildly spicy, tangy, and slightly sweet salsa.

The salsa is not pureed fully, which gives it a textured, chunky consistency ideal for dipping or serving alongside Mexican dishes. Adding lime juice and fresh cilantro before serving adds fresh acidity and herbal brightness that enhance the salsa’s flavor profile.

Prepare ahead and chill the salsa well for the flavors to meld. This salsa is suitable as a dip for chips or as an accompaniment to tacos, grilled meats, or vegetables.
