Copycat Dunkin' Donuts Wake Up Wrap | 15-Minute Make-Ahead Breakfast

This Copycat Dunkin' Donuts Wake Up Wrap features crisp bacon, cooked eggs with broken yolks to ensure full cooking, and American cheese folded inside warmed tortillas. The preparation focuses on even cooking to prevent runniness in the eggs, with quick assembly suitable for make-ahead breakfasts and easy reheating.

Description

The recipe begins by pan-cooking bacon over medium-low heat until crispy and browned on both sides, with the option to save rendered bacon grease. Eggs are then cooked in the same skillet with butter or nonstick spray, breaking the yolks and covering the pan to cook the eggs thoroughly without runny centers.

Once eggs are cooked and removed from the skillet, tortillas are heated briefly before adding a slice of American cheese, one egg, and one slice of bacon. The tortilla is then folded in half, enclosing the filling for convenient eating.

These wraps can be prepared in bulk, cooled completely, and stored for freezing. Reheating with a damp paper towel helps preserve tortilla softness by generating steam, preventing them from becoming tough or chewy.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 lices Bacon
  • 1 teaspoon butter or non-stick spray
  • 2 large egg
  • 2 inch tortillas
  • 2 lices American cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the bacon in a cold skillet, and turn the heat to medium-low.
  2. When the bacon begins to curl up, turn it over to cook on the other side. Cook the bacon until it begins to brown and crisp. Then flip it over and brown the other side.
  3. Remove the bacon from the skillet. You can save the bacon grease by placing it in a heat-proof jar if desired.
  4. Wipe out the skillet with a paper towel.
  5. Spray non-stick spray or melt 1 teaspoon of butter in the same skillet over medium heat.
  6. When the skillet is warm, break each egg into the skillet.
  7. Break the yolks with a fork. Place a lid over the skillet, and cook for 60 to 90 seconds. The eggs are done when the whites and yolks have cooked completely.
  8. Remove the eggs from the skillet, and set aside.
  9. Place a tortilla into the hot pan. Let the tortilla heat for about 30 seconds on one side.
  10. Then flip the tortilla and add 1 slice of American cheese, one egg, and one slice of bacon.
  11. Fold the tortilla in half and serve.
  12. Repeat the process with the other tortilla.

Notes

  • Break egg yolks before cooking and cover skillet to ensure the eggs cook fully and evenly without runniness.
  • For bulk preparation and freezing, cool all components completely before assembling to avoid soggy tortillas.
  • Reheat wraps wrapped in a damp paper towel to maintain tortilla softness and prevent chewy or tough edges.
