Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Description
The biscuit dough is formed by mixing all-purpose flour with baking powder, baking soda, sugar, garlic powder, and salt, then cutting in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Milk and shredded cheddar cheese are stirred in to create a thick batter dropped onto a baking sheet in mounds. Baking at 400°F for 12-15 minutes yields biscuits with lightly browned crusts and a soft interior.
While baking, a garlic butter sauce with melted butter, dried parsley, garlic powder, and optional Italian seasoning is prepared. This is brushed over warm biscuits immediately after baking to impart moisture, garlic flavor, and herb notes. The result is a tender, flavorful biscuit suitable for serving alongside soups, salads, or main dishes.
The recipe can be adapted by substituting biscuit mix (such as Bisquick) combined with softened butter, milk, garlic powder, and cheese, producing a similar biscuit texture with a quick preparation.
