Copycat Texas Roadhouse Steak
Description
This recipe features sirloin steaks rubbed with a spice mixture that includes brown sugar, salt, black pepper, paprika, chili powder, garlic and onion powders, turmeric, and cornstarch. The rub balances savory, sweet, and mildly spicy elements and helps form an appealing crust when grilled. The steaks are seasoned liberally, allowed to rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors, then grilled over medium-high heat until cooked to the desired level.
The grilling method creates a seared exterior with marked grill lines, and the resting period allows juices to redistribute. The steak can be cooked from rare to well done, with internal temperature guidelines provided for accuracy. Although sirloin is specified, the rub also works well on ribeye, T-bone, or strip steaks, providing versatile seasoning for various cuts.
After grilling, the steak is rested for a minimum of five minutes to preserve juiciness before cutting and serving. This approach balances a richly seasoned crust with tender, flavorful meat inside.

- Flip the steak over and grill for an additional 3 to 5 minutes depending on how you like your steak cooked.
- Remove from the grill and allow to rest a minimum of 5 minutes before cutting or serving.
