Corn Pudding Casserole Recipe

The Corn Pudding Casserole blends creamed butter and flour cooked with milk into a custard base mixed with corn kernels and eggs. Topped with buttery crushed corn flakes, it bakes into a creamy, slightly sweet casserole with a crunchy golden topping that highlights the natural sweetness of corn.

Description

This dish starts by making a butter-flour roux cooked with milk until thickened, forming a smooth, custard-like base. Frozen corn is stirred in alongside beaten eggs, sugar, and salt to build a rich mixture before baking. The eggs help the casserole set into a soft, creamy texture that contrasts with the crunchy corn flake topping.

A topping of crushed corn flakes mixed with melted butter is sprinkled over the corn mixture before baking at 350 degrees for one hour. Baking develops a golden, crisp crust that lends a contrast to the tender interior filled with plump corn kernels.

The casserole serves well as a side dish at lunch or dinner, highlighting corn's sweetness and providing both creamy and crispy textures in one comforting dish.
