Cornflake Crusted Fish – Air Fried

This recipe produces cornflake-crusted white fish with a seasoned dry rub, cooked in an air fryer to yield a crispy coating without deep frying. The fish is dredged through flour, egg, and crushed cornflakes for texture and crunch. The spice blend includes garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, chili powder, and onion powder for balanced flavor with mild heat. Air frying crisps the coating while keeping the fish moist inside.

Description

Cornflake Crusted Fish begins with white fish fillets, which are rubbed with a spice mix containing garlic powder, salt, Old Bay seasoning, chili powder, onion powder, and black pepper. The fish is then dipped in seasoned flour, whisked egg, and crushed cornflakes to form a crunchy exterior.

The recipe offers cooking in an air fryer or oven, with air frying at 400°F for about 15 minutes, flipping once for even crisping. Cooking spray helps the cornflake crust brown without frying in oil. The result is a golden, crisp crust encasing tender, flaky fish.

This method provides a flavorful alternative to traditional fried fish with less oil and mess. The seasoned dry rub adds subtle complexity and heat, while the cornflakes create a distinctive crunch different from breadcrumbs.
