Country Style Pork Ribs Recipe
Description
Country Style Pork Ribs are first simmered in a flavorful broth that includes Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke, enhancing their depth of flavor while making the meat tender. The addition of garlic powder, salt, and black pepper seasons the ribs throughout the cooking process. After boiling for about 50 minutes, the ribs are brushed with barbecue sauce and baked at a low temperature until fully cooked and tender, allowing the sauce to meld with the ribs.
The final broiling step caramelizes the barbecue sauce, creating a slightly crispy exterior that contrasts with the moist interior of the ribs. This recipe uses Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce, which adds a recognizable sweet and tangy flavor profile to the dish. The preparation involves straightforward steps that focus on building layers of flavor through boiling, baking, and broiling.
These ribs make a satisfying main dish suitable for casual dinners. They pair well with traditional barbecue sides or simple salads. Following the cooking times ensures the ribs are tender and fully cooked, with a final internal temperature of 160°F as recommended to ensure safety and juiciness.
Ingredients
- 2½ pounds country style pork ribs
- ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tablespoon liquid smoke
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper ground
- 1½ cups barbecue sauce Sweet Baby Ray's
Instructions
- Add ribs to a large pot and cover with water. Season with Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring water to a boil and boil for about 50 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Once done boiling, place ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet and brush with one cup of barbecue sauce. Cover with foil, making sure to tent foil so the barbeque sauce doesn't stick to the foil.
- Bake for 1½-2 hours or until internal temperature of ribs reached 160°F. Brush with remaining barbecue sauce and broil for the last few minutes.
