Crack dip Recipe
Description
The Crack dip Recipe starts by mixing softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning mix, sour cream, bacon bits (or cooked crumbled bacon), and cheddar cheese together. Baking the mixture covered and then uncovered melts the cheese and heats through, creating a thick, creamy dip. Adding green onions on top provides a mild onion flavor and a fresh contrast to the richness.
The dish can also be prepared in a crock pot by combining the ingredients and cooking on low until heated, then adding cheese on top to melt. This method adds convenience for longer cooking and keeping the dip warm during serving.
This dip is versatile as it can be served warm right from the oven or cold when mixed without baking. It pairs well with a range of dippers such as crackers, chips, or vegetable sticks, making it a convenient, flavorful accompaniment for snacks or appetizers.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 ranch seasoning mix 1 oz, packet
- 1/2 cup bacon bits or 12 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled, real
- 2 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 16 oz. sour cream
- 1/8 cup green onions sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Stir together the cream cheese, ranch seasoning mix, bacon bits, sour cream and 1 1/2 cup of the cheddar cheese.

- Notes:This can also be made in the crock pot! Add the mixture to a bottom of a crock pot, cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours until the dip is heated through. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese, cover and cook for 10-15 until the cheese has melted.
Notes
- This dip can be served cold by mixing all ingredients and skipping the baking step.
- For crock pot preparation, cook the mixture on low for 3-4 hours and add the remaining cheddar to melt on top before serving.
