Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup white sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 lbs apple cored and cut into 1/2" slices (use an apple cutter to make this easy, Golden Delicious variety
  • 1/2 Cup apple cider or apple juice
  • 3/4 Tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside
  2. Melt the butter over medium-high heat in a large cast-iron or non-stick skillet. Once butter has melted, add the sliced apples and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Cook for about 12 minutes, stirring often until apples are tender. Remove the apples from the pan and set aside.
  3. In a small pyrex cup, whisk together the apple cider and cornstarch. Add to the skillet and stir constantly for 1 minute, until it has thickened. Add apples back into the pan, stir gently to combine then serve immediately.
