Cranberry Moscow Mule
Description
This cocktail combines vodka with cranberry juice cocktail and fresh lime juice, topped with ginger beer. The ginger beer provides a spicy, fizzy contrast to the tartness of cranberry and citrus. Mixing extends only to gentle stirring after pouring over ice, preserving carbonation.
Serving in a traditional copper mug enhances the drink's coldness, and garnishes like lime slices or mint add fresh aroma and complementary visuals. The recipe serves one but is easily scaled for multiple servings.
Though this recipe does not require shaking, using a cocktail shaker for the vodka, cranberry, and lime juice can provide a better blend before adding ginger beer, but this is optional.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce cranberry juice cocktail
- ½ ounce lime juice
- 3½ ounces ginger beer
- lime slices fresh sprigs
- Cranberry
- mint
Instructions
- Fill a 16 ounce copper mug 2/3 of the way full of ice.
- Pour the vodka over the ice.
- Add the cranberry juice and lime juice.
- Pour in the ginger beer and gently stir everything together.
- Add garnishes of your choice, then serve immediately.
Notes
- Ginger beer is a sweet, fizzy beverage with strong ginger flavor commonly found near alcohol mixers.
- This recipe makes one drink; ingredient amounts scale easily for larger batches.
- A cocktail shaker can be used to mix vodka, cranberry and lime juices before adding ginger beer, but stirring suffices.
