Cranberry Pinot Noir Meatballs
Description
Cranberry Pinot Noir Meatballs start with Italian-style meatballs cooked as directed. Meanwhile, a sauce is prepared by whisking together whole canned cranberry sauce, packed brown sugar, Pinot Noir wine, and spicy brown mustard in a saucepan. Heating and simmering this mixture thickens it to a syrupy consistency that coats the meatballs well.
The resulting dish offers a mix of savory, sweet, and fruity flavors. The Pinot Noir provides a smooth depth, while cranberry sauce gives vibrant tartness complemented by the warmth of mustard. The brown sugar balances acidity with sweetness.
Serve immediately for a warm appetizer or entrée, or keep the meatballs in a crock pot on warm or low to maintain temperature before serving. The texture of the meatballs remains tender beneath the flavorful glaze.
