Cranberry Salsa
Description
The Cranberry Salsa recipe combines fresh cranberries with the acidity of lime juice, the sharpness of green onions, and the mild heat from jalapeño peppers to create a vibrant condiment. The cranberries are pulsed just enough to break them up, preserving some texture without turning the salsa into a puree. Sugar is added to balance the tartness, while cilantro contributes a fresh herbal note, and salt rounds out the flavors. The salsa is refrigerated for at least an hour to let the flavors meld before serving.
This salsa pairs well with tortilla chips, adds a bright note to grilled chicken or fish, and can be served alongside Mexican dishes to introduce a festive element. Its blend of tart, sweet, and spicy makes it versatile for different palate preferences.
Leftover salsa should be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator and consumed within four days. Stirring before serving helps to recombine any separated juices and refresh the flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 lime juiced
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar or to taste
- 12 ounces cranberries fresh
- 2 green onions cut into 1" pieces
- ¼ cup cilantro
- 1 jalapeño seeded and chopped
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt or to taste
Instructions
- Combine lime juice (about 2 tablespoons) and sugar in a small bowl.
