Crazy Easy Sourdough Pancakes
Description
Crazy Easy Sourdough Pancakes highlight the use of a sourdough starter mixed with typical pancake dry ingredients like flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. The wet ingredients, including eggs and milk, are combined with the starter to produce a batter that yields soft and fluffy pancakes. Cooking each portion in butter on medium-low heat helps develop a golden-brown color and gentle texture without burning. The slight acidity from the sourdough starter adds depth to the overall flavor while keeping the pancakes tender. This approach repurposes sourdough discard for a practical breakfast option.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup sourdough starter or discard
- 2 egg large
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter for frying, unsalted
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients together. Set them aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine the starter, milk, and eggs. Whisk to combine.
- Whisk the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well combined.
