Cream Cheese Clam Dip

Cream Cheese Clam Dip blends canned clams with cream cheese, sour cream, seasonings including lemon juice and monosodium glutamate, producing a smooth and tangy dip. After mixing and chilling, the dip is garnished with fresh herbs. This preparation can be halved to adjust serving size.

Description

This clam dip starts with draining canned clams and reserving a small amount of clam juice to add flavor. The base uses cream cheese and sour cream, blended with sugar, salt, lemon juice, and MSG to balance sweetness, acidity, saltiness, and savoriness. Mixing until smooth ensures a creamy texture. The chopped clams are folded in last, preserving their texture.

Chilling the dip for a few hours in the refrigerator allows flavors to meld and intensify. Garnishing with freshly chopped parsley or chives adds a fresh herbal note and color contrast. The dip suits serving with crackers, chips, or vegetable sticks.

Portion size can be adjusted easily by halving the ingredients.
