Cream Cheese Sausage Dip

Cream Cheese Sausage Dip combines browned seasoned sausage with softened cream cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes, and green chilies to create a creamy, savory dip. It can be heated on the stovetop or in a crockpot, resulting in a smooth, warm mixture perfect for serving with tortilla chips or as a party appetizer.

Description

This dip starts by browning a pound of sausage and draining its grease. The cooked sausage is then combined with softened cream cheese, sour cream, and canned diced tomatoes plus green chilies, specifically Rotel brand for balance of flavor and heat. Stirred together and heated gently until the cream cheese melts, the dip becomes creamy and well blended.

The crockpot version heats the combined ingredients on low for 2-3 hours, with occasional stirring to achieve a smooth texture. Alternatively, the stovetop allows quicker preparation by melting and mixing over low heat, then letting the dip thicken slightly off heat before serving.

The resulting dip offers a rich, savory blend of tangy cream cheese and sour cream with spicy tomato and chili flavors from the Rotel. It's best served warm with crunchy chips.
