Cream Corn Casserole Recipe
Description
Cream Corn Casserole Recipe blends whole frozen corn kernels and creamed corn with sour cream, eggs, and melted butter to create a rich and slightly sweet custard base. This mixture incorporates a box of cornbread mix to add structure and a soft crumb texture. The baking process produces a golden-brown crust around the edges while keeping the center tender and creamy.
The flavor balances sweet and savory notes, accented by a touch of kosher salt and sugar. The recipe calls for a resting period after baking to allow firm setting, making it easier to cut and serve. Toppings like sour cream, Greek yogurt, or fresh herbs such as chives or jalapenos can personalize each serving.
This casserole fits well as a warm side in holiday meals or weeknight dinners, pairing nicely with roasted meats or grilled vegetables. Its comforting texture and adaptable flavor profile make it useful for various menus.
Allowing the casserole to cool before cutting helps maintain neat slices. Using a serrated knife can reduce crumbling. Experimenting with toppings enhances the profile without complicating preparation.
