Creamed Corn Casserole
Description
This casserole combines two textures of corn: whole kernels for slight bite and creamed corn for smoothness. The addition of sour cream and melted butter enriches the mixture and adds moisture. Shredded cheddar cheese contributes sharpness and a melty quality, while eggs bind the ingredients. The cornbread mix adds structure, resulting in a dense yet tender bake.
The dish is baked in a 9x13-inch pan uncovered, allowing the edges to brown and develop a bit of a crust while the interior remains soft and creamy. After baking, resting the casserole for at least 10 minutes helps it set for easier serving.
This casserole complements roasted meats and is a popular addition to holiday or comfort food menus. It serves well warm and can be portioned for family meals or gatherings.
