Creamed Eggs On Toast

Creamed Eggs On Toast blends chopped hard-boiled eggs in a creamy butter and flour sauce, poured over toasted bread slices. The sauce, thickened with a roux and milk, offers a smooth texture that complements the tender eggs and crisp toast. This comforting dish is ideal for breakfast or a light lunch, delivering mild, rich flavors with simple pantry ingredients.

Description

Creamed Eggs On Toast combines hard-boiled eggs with a basic white sauce made by cooking butter and flour to form a roux, then gradually adding milk until thickened. The chopped eggs are stirred into the sauce, leaving some for garnish. The mixture is spooned over slices of toast to provide a creamy, rich topping contrasted by the crispness of the bread. The sauce's gentle seasoning highlights the eggs without overpowering them.

The texture is smooth and creamy, balancing softness from the eggs and toast. The sauce base relies on gentle simmering and constant whisking to avoid lumps and achieve the right thickness.

This dish is best served warm and works well for a breakfast or brunch option when you want a soothing, rich meal with minimal ingredients.

Careful attention to whisking the sauce ensures a smooth consistency, and timing egg garnishes adds visual interest when serving. Total preparation time is under 20 minutes, making it suitable for a quick homemade meal.
