Creamed Spinach Recipe
Description
This creamed spinach recipe begins by softening minced shallots and garlic in butter over medium-low heat. Flour is stirred in and cooked briefly to remove raw taste, then milk is gradually whisked in to form a thickened sauce. Parmesan cheese adds savory depth, while nutmeg, salt, and pepper provide balanced seasoning.
Boursin cheese, known for its creamy garlic and herb flavor, is folded into the sauce for richness. Finally, well-thawed and thoroughly drained spinach is stirred in, heated briefly to combine flavors and warm through without excess moisture.
Finished creamed spinach offers a smooth, creamy texture and can be served alongside meats or incorporated into various dishes needing a rich vegetable side.
