Creamy Beef and Noodles Skillet
Description
This skillet dish starts with sautéing ground beef and diced onions until browned and translucent, providing a savory foundation. The addition of condensed tomato soup and cream of mushroom soup results in a creamy, flavorful sauce that clings to the cooked macaroni noodles. Draining the noodles before adding them ensures the sauce does not become too watery.
Shredded cheddar cheese is stirred in gently to melt through the mixture, adding a sharp, creamy element that balances the tomato and mushroom flavors. The pasta provides a soft chewiness that complements the tender beef and smooth sauce.
The recipe is flexible with pasta choices, and extra vegetables like corn, peas, diced tomatoes, mushrooms, or greens can be added to increase nutrition and variety. Cheeses such as Monterey Jack or Mozzarella can be substituted or combined with cheddar, allowing customization of flavor.
Using homemade condensed mushroom soup is an option to avoid canned ingredients. The dish integrates well as a filling main course and can be prepared in one skillet for convenience.

Notes
- Homemade condensed cream of mushroom soup can be used instead of canned for a fresher flavor.
- Various pasta shapes like rotini, bowtie, or penne can substitute macaroni; whole wheat or gluten-free pasta also work.
- Add vegetables such as corn, peas, diced tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, or spinach to increase nutrition.
- Grate shredded zucchini and carrots into the beef mixture to hide extra vegetables without altering flavor noticeably.
- Monterey Jack or Mozzarella cheese can be used alone or with cheddar for different cheese notes.
