Creamy Cucumber Salad

Report
Creamy Cucumber Salad combines thinly sliced English cucumbers and red onion tossed in a sour cream dressing flavored with fresh dill, white vinegar, sugar, salt, and garlic powder. Chilling the salad for an hour allows the flavors to meld, resulting in a crisp, refreshing side dish featuring a balance of tangy, creamy, and slightly sweet notes with a hint of garlic and herbaceous dill.

Description

This Creamy Cucumber Salad uses peeled, fork-scored cucumbers sliced thinly to create a crisp texture that contrasts with the creamy sour cream-based dressing. The dressing blends fresh dill, white vinegar, sugar, salt, and garlic powder to provide a tangy and lightly sweet flavor profile with herbal and savory accents. Red onions add a mild bite and color.

After tossing the vegetables in the dressing, the salad is refrigerated for about an hour to allow the flavors to develop and the cucumbers to absorb the dressing. The result is a cooling, creamy salad with a crisp snap from cucumbers and a gentle tang from the sour cream and vinegar.

This salad pairs well as a side dish to grilled meats or sandwiches and can be served chilled to complement richer, heavier foods. It's simple to prepare and store, making it practical for meal prep or serving with casual meals.

Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3 to 4 days in an airtight container, maintaining freshness and flavor.
