Creamy French Dressing Recipe

This Creamy French Dressing blends mayonnaise, ketchup, oil, and apple cider vinegar with sweetener and spices to create a smooth, tangy-sweet salad dressing. The texture is thick yet pourable, with a balance of creamy richness and bright acidity enhanced by paprika and garlic powder. It suits green salads or vegetable bowls needing a flavorful, creamy dressing with a slightly sweet and tangy profile.

Description

The dressing combines quality mayonnaise and ketchup for a creamy, slightly tangy base. Neutral oil adds smoothness without overpowering the flavors, while apple cider vinegar contributes brightness and acidity. Granulated sugar or sweetener balances the acid for a well-rounded taste. The inclusion of small yellow onion, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder rounds out the flavor with savory and aromatic notes. Blending all ingredients until smooth integrates flavors uniformly.

The dressing keeps its creamy texture and flavor when chilled, making it convenient for preparing ahead. It pours easily over salads and can serve as a dip or sandwich spread. The recipe yields about 2½ cups, enough for several servings.

Adjust vinegar or sugar levels after blending to suit personal taste preferences. For a lower-calorie option, replace mayonnaise with a low-fat variety and use sugar substitutes for sweeteners.
