  • 2 chicken breast sliced in half lengthwise to yield four fillets, large, boneless, skinless
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • cup heavy cream
  • 3 teaspoons lemon fresh-squeezed juice
  • 2 tablespoons capers drained
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a wide, shallow bowl stir together flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dredge chicken in the flour mixture, flipping to coat all sides of the chicken. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Reduce
  4. Once melted, Place chicken in the pan and cook - without disturbing - for 3-5 minutes. Flip chicken and cook another 3-4 minutes until chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  5. Add garlic to the pan and stir for 30 seconds til fragrant. Stir in chicken broth and lemon juice and bring to a simmer. Stir in heavy cream.
  6. Simmer for about 3-5 minutes. Stir in capers and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Return chicken to pan, spoon lemon caper cream sauce over the chicken, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve.

Notes

  • If you prefer, replace capers with green olives or omit them and add vegetables like broccoli instead.
