Creamy Parmesan Pork Chops
Description
Creamy Parmesan Pork Chops feature boneless pork chops browned in butter and generously seasoned with salt and pepper. After browning, they rest covered to finish cooking through without drying out. The pan is then used to build a sauce with caramelized garlic, flour, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese, providing a thick, creamy consistency. Fresh parsley adds color and a subtle herb note to the sauce. The pork chops are returned to the pan briefly to rewarm and absorb some sauce flavor before serving.
This dish combines the simplicity of pork chops with a luscious Parmesan cream sauce that maintains a balance of savory and creamy textures. The cooking method allows the pork to remain juicy while the sauce provides silky richness.
Serving these pork chops alongside mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a simple salad can complete the meal, as the creamy sauce pairs well with starchy or fresh sides. The recipe's instructions emphasize using the same pan for sauce preparation to retain flavor and minimize cleanup.
Ingredients
- 4-5 pork chops approximately 3-4 ounces each, boneless
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 1½ tablespoons butter salted
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- 1 tablespoon parsley fresh, minced
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1½ tablespoons salted butter and allow to melt, stirring to coat the pan.
- Sprinkle 4-5 boneless pork chops with salt and pepper to taste on both sides.
- Add pork to skillet and cook each side for 4-5 minutes or until both sides are golden brown. Turn off heat and cover with a tight lid. Let the chops sit for 8-10 minutes until fully cooked through. Set aside on a foil tented plate to keep warm.
- Scrape the pan to release all that yumminess, no need to clean the pan. Heat pan to medium-high heat. Toss 3 cloves minced garlic in the pan and allow it to caramelize for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1½ cups heavy cream and stir quickly to combine. Bring to a boil, and then reduce to a simmer. Allow to simmer for 2 minutes.
- Stir in ¾ cup grated parmesan and 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley, stirring until fully combined and heated through.
- Return pork to the sauce and serve.
