Creamy Spring Onion and Radish Dip
Description
This dip is made by combining sour cream, mayonnaise, and salt with very thinly sliced radishes and finely chopped green onions. Using both the white and green parts of the onions adds mild onion flavor and freshness. Mixing the ingredients well allows the flavors and textures to meld evenly.
Chilling the dip before serving helps the flavors develop and keeps the radishes crisp. It can be served with a variety of dippers like crackers, chips, bread, or fresh vegetable crudité. Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups radish very thinly sliced. *See Notes
- 1/2 cup green onion trimmed and thinly chopped. Use the white and green parts.
- black pepper to taste, fresh cracked
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Reserve a little of the sliced green onion for a garnish.
- Chill until ready to serve, sprinkle with extra green onion and black pepper. Serve with crackers, chips, bread, or vegetable crudité.
Notes
- Thinly slice radishes using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife for best texture.
- You can substitute part of the sour cream or mayonnaise with plain yogurt to reduce fat.
