Creamy Turkey Casserole

The Creamy Turkey Casserole combines penne pasta with a savory mixture of sautéed onion, mushrooms, and garlic in butter, blended with cream of chicken soup and milk to form a creamy sauce. Shredded turkey and Havarti cheese add richness and protein, topped with a buttery seasoned breadcrumb crust baked until golden and bubbly.

Description

This casserole starts with cooked penne pasta cooked al dente. Onion, mushrooms, and garlic are softened in butter, then mixed with condensed cream of chicken soup, milk, seasoned salt, basil, half of the shredded Havarti cheese, shredded turkey, and pasta. This mixture is spread in a 9x13-inch baking dish, topped with the remaining cheese and a crumbly topping of melted butter mixed with seasoned breadcrumbs.

Baked at 375°F for 30-35 minutes, the casserole develops a golden crust while the interior stays creamy and tender. The dish balances the earthiness of mushrooms with mild cheese and turkey's savory flavor. It's a hearty and comforting meal suitable for using cooked turkey leftovers.

Leftovers store well in the refrigerator airtight for up to four days, making this casserole convenient for meal planning.
