Crepes With Cream Cheese Filling

This recipe makes thin, tender crepes filled with a sweet cream cheese and cottage cheese mixture, lightly sweetened with condensed milk. The crepes are cooked to golden brown spots on a skillet before being spread with the creamy filling, rolled, and layered in a baking dish. A condensed milk drizzle and shaved dark chocolate topping add sweetness and richness after baking. The result is a tender, mildly sweet dessert with creamy filling and a slight chocolate accent.

Description

Crepes With Cream Cheese Filling starts with a smooth batter of eggs, sugar, flour, milk, and vegetable oil, cooked in a nonstick skillet to thin, soft crepes with delicate golden spots. The filling combines softened cream cheese, cottage or farmer's cheese, and condensed milk into a smooth, sweetened spread. Each crepe is filled with the cheese mixture and rolled up, then layered into a baking pan.

The assembled crepes receive a drizzle of additional sweetened condensed milk and a scattering of shaved dark chocolate before baking at 350°F, allowing flavors to meld and the topping to slightly melt. The baked crepes deliver a creamy texture balanced by the delicate, thin crepes and chocolate notes.

This crepe dish can serve as a dessert or a sweet breakfast treat. The balance of mild sweetness and creamy filling without heavy frostings makes it light yet satisfying.

No additional notes were provided, so prepare and bake the crepes promptly to maintain texture and creaminess.

Ingredients

Servings

Crepes

  • 6 egg
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Sweet Cheese Filling

  • 16 oz cream cheese
  • 6 oz cottage cheese (or farmers cheese)
  • 7 oz condensed milk

Topping

  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate shaved

Instructions

Crepes

  1. Whisk together the eggs, sugar, and flour in a large bowl until smooth.
  2. Add the milk while continuing to whisk, followed by the oil.
  3. Preheat the pan on medium-high heat and spray it with oil. Lift up the frying pan with one hand and with another, pour in 1/4 cup of the crepe batter. Shift the pan from side to side to cover the bottom with the batter. The crepe should be thin, but not see-through.
  4. Once the edges of the crepe are set, lift it carefully and flip it. Cook for another few seconds, or until golden brown spots develop, then remove it from the skillet and continue cooking the rest of the crepes.

Filling & Topping

  1. To make the filling, combine the cream cheese, cottage cheese, and condensed milk with a mixer.
  2. Spread an even layer of the filling onto one side of a crepe, then roll it up. Repeat with the rest of the crepes.
  3. Layer all the filled crepes in a ceramic baking pan. Drizzle 1/4 cup of sweetened condensed milk on top. Bake the crepes at 350°F for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Serve the crepes hot with all your favorite toppings, like chocolate shavings!
