Crescent Mummy Pizza

For a spooky fun Halloween dinner whip up a flaky crescent mummy pizza topped with olive eyes for a playful touch.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) crescent dough sheet or 1(8-ounce) can crescent rolls, can
  • ¼ cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 32 pepperoni
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • pizza seasoning
  • Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 2 olive sliced, medium, pitted, ripe

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Unroll dough onto cookie sheet making sure the long side of the pan is facing you.
  3. Brush pizza sauce onto the middle of the dough and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese down the middle. Add pepperoni slices (4 across, 8 down) on top of the cheese, overlapping a little bit. Sprinkle with pizza seasoning.
  4. Using kitchen scissors, make cuts 1 inch part and about 2 inches deep onto both sides of the dough to within ½ inch of the filling. Fold up the bottom edge of the dough, and alternately cross strips of dough over the filling. Fold up last edge of the dough making sure to seal.
  5. In a small bowl, make an egg wash by whisking the water and egg. Brush the dough with the egg mixture and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese. Add 2 sliced olives for eyes.
  6. Bake for 16-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Store: Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 1-2 days. 
  • Freeze:
  • Whether you wish to bake this ahead of time or freeze leftovers you can do so using the following:
  • Freeze: Allow the pizza to cool and wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, then place them in an airtight freezer-safe container, or bag, or wrap it again with foil.
  • Reheating: To reheat, thaw frozen in the refrigerator overnight, then warm it up in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until heated through.
