Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts
Description
The recipe begins by trimming and halving Brussels sprouts to allow even cooking and crispness. Tossing them with avocado oil evenly coats each piece, which helps in achieving a crispy surface during air frying. Seasoning with fine sea salt and ground black pepper adds balanced savory notes without overpowering the natural flavor of the sprouts.
Cooking at 425°F in the air fryer is done in two intervals of seven minutes each, separated by shaking the basket to turn the sprouts and ensure uniform browning. This method yields a crisp outer layer with a tender center that retains the vegetable's natural bite and sweetness.
Brussels sprouts cooked this way are best eaten immediately to enjoy their crisp texture and fresh flavor. They can serve as a side dish or snack with a slight nutty flavor that develops during high-heat air frying.
