Crispy beer battered cauliflower

Crispy beer battered cauliflower offers cauliflower florets coated in a seasoned beer batter and fried until golden and crunchy. Paired with a tangy mayonnaise dipping sauce enhanced with lemon juice, capers, and parsley, this appetizer showcases a contrast between the tender vegetable inside and the crisp fried coating, ideal for snacking or as a side dish.

Description

This recipe involves dipping cauliflower florets first in a seasoned flour mixture, then coating them in a beer batter made with flour, baking powder, smoked paprika, salt, and beer. Deep frying in hot oil yields a crispy, light crust that encases the tender cooked cauliflower. The beer adds subtle bitterness and carbonation, contributing to the batter's airy texture.

The accompanying mayonnaise dipping sauce combines mayonnaise, lemon juice, chopped capers, and parsley, which provide acidity, briny notes, and herbaceous freshness. Black pepper and salt further season the sauce, making it a flavorful complement to the fried cauliflower.

These crispy bites are suitable as an appetizer or snack, enjoyed warm for the best texture. The batter and sauce together create a balance of crunchy, creamy, tangy, and savory flavors.
