Crispy Cheesy Baked Broccoli
Description
This recipe prepares broccoli florets by first whisking eggs with milk, which helps the coating adhere. The broccoli is then coated in a mix of almond flour, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and salt to impart flavor and texture. After placing the coated florets on a baking sheet, a sprinkle of cheddar cheese on top adds richness and sharpness as it melts and browns in the oven. Baking at 400°F for 10-15 minutes crisps the coating while keeping the broccoli tender. This preparation method highlights the natural broccoli flavor complemented by a crunchy, cheesy crust.
The dish makes a flavorful side or snack with a satisfying contrast of textures. It pairs well with simple proteins or as a low-carb alternative to traditional breaded vegetables.
Using fresh broccoli and properly cleaning and cutting the florets into bite-sized pieces improves the texture and coating adherence. Grating your own cheese enhances melting and flavor, though store-bought cheese works when needed.
