Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch Wraps
Description
The Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch Wraps bring together shredded cooked chicken, crumbled bacon, chopped spinach, and ranch dressing into a creamy filling accented by shredded cheese. The tortillas are layered with cheese, filled with the mixture, folded tightly, then cooked seam-side down on a medium-heated griddle or skillet. This ensures the wrap crisps evenly and maintains structural integrity. Spraying or brushing them lightly with oil promotes an even golden-brown crust. The melted cheese inside adds richness, while the spinach provides freshness. The ranch dressing anchors the flavor profile with its creamy, tangy notes.
These wraps offer a combination of textures: the crisped outside and the soft, flavorful interior. They can be served immediately while hot and crispy, making them convenient for casual meals and gatherings. They pair well with simple sides or fresh vegetables to balance the richness.
The recipe notes highlight the importance of using a ranch dressing that suits your taste and optionally adding dry ranch mix to intensify the flavor. Cheese varieties like Monterey Jack and cheddar blend well and melt effectively. Handling the wraps carefully when folding and cooking helps prevent tearing and leaking fillings.
Ingredients
- 3 cups chicken cooked, chopped
- 2 cups baby spinach lightly packed, chopped
- 6 lices Bacon cooked and crumbled
- ½ cup ranch dressing see note
- 1 tablespoon dry ranch mix optional, see note
- 1 ½ cups cheese shredded, see note
- 6 burrito-size tortilla 10-inch
Instructions
- In a bowl, add the chicken, spinach, bacon, ranch dressing and dry ranch seasoning (if using). Stir together until evenly combined.
- To assemble: sprinkle about 1/4 to 1/3 cup cheese across tortilla. Spread 1/3 to 1/2 cup filling in a wide strip down the center of the tortilla. Fold one side of the tortilla over the filling, followed by the other side. Press lightly to flatten.
- Heat a griddle or nonstick skillet on the stovetop to medium heat (about 350 degrees for an electric griddle).
- Spray the seam side of the wraps with nonstick cooking spray or lightly brush with olive oil (this helps them get extra crispy).
- Place the wraps seam-side down on the preheated griddle or skillet (cooking this side first will help them not fall apart). Cook until golden brown and crisp, about 2-4 minutes, pressing lightly with a spatula to flatten a bit while cooking.
- Spray the top with nonstick cooking spray or brush lightly with oil and flip. Cook for another 2-4 minutes, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the tortilla is golden and the filling is hot and melty.
- Cut the wraps in half and serve warm.
Notes
- Use a ranch dressing you enjoy, whether homemade or store-bought, to ensure flavor satisfaction.
- Adding dry ranch mix is optional but enhances the overall ranch taste in the filling.
- Blend Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses or use a good melting quesadilla cheese for the best texture and flavor.
- To help the wraps crisp properly and hold together, cook them seam-side down first and lightly brush or spray with oil.
