Crispy Panko Fish Recipe

This Crispy Panko Fish Recipe features white fish fillets coated in a seasoned mixture of panko bread crumbs, flour, and parmesan cheese. The fish is dipped in an egg and milk wash then pan-fried until golden and crispy. The result is a tender fish inside with a flavorful crunchy crust, suitable for main dishes served hot immediately after cooking.

Description

The recipe uses white fish such as cod or halibut cut into chunks and coated with a mixture of panko crumbs, flour, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper for flavor and texture. The fish pieces are first dipped into a beaten egg and milk mixture which helps the coating adhere well and form a crispy crust when fried.

Cooking involves frying the coated fish in neutral cooking oil over medium-high heat until golden brown, about two and a half minutes on each side. Removing loose panko from the oil between batches ensures a cleaner cooking surface and even crust formation.

Serving immediately after frying allows for the best contrast between the crunchy exterior and the moist, flaky fish inside. This simple, classic approach highlights the fish without complex seasoning or sauce.
