Crock Pot Beef Stew Recipe

Report
Crock Pot Beef Stew Recipe combines beef stew meat with potatoes, carrots, onions, and green beans in a slow cooker alongside crushed tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce. The long, slow cooking tenderizes meat and melds flavors into a hearty, savory stew with a balance of textures from the soft vegetables and tender beef. Simple seasoning with salt, black pepper, and bay leaves rounds out the dish.

Description

Beef stew meat is placed in the bottom of a crock pot with peeled and diced potatoes, and layered with sliced carrots, onions, and frozen green beans. The liquid component includes crushed tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and water, providing a tomato-based broth with umami depth from the Worcestershire.

Seasoned with salt, black pepper, and bay leaves, the stew simmers over several hours on low or high settings, allowing the beef to become tender and the vegetables to cook thoroughly. The slow cooker method requires minimal active preparation and yields a thick, comforting stew with clearly distinguishable ingredients.

Serving suggestions include pairing the stew with homemade cornbread to complement its hearty flavor and enhance the meal experience. This stew functions as a satisfying main course for cooler weather or when a slow-cooked, flavorful entree is desired.
