Crock Pot Chicken Parmesan Sliders
Description
Crock Pot Chicken Parmesan Sliders start with boneless, skinless chicken breasts cooked slowly in a mix of marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper until they are tender enough to shred easily. The shredded chicken is returned to the sauce to absorb more flavor. The chicken mixture is then spooned onto the bottom halves of Hawaiian rolls arranged in a baking dish. Layers of shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese are added before topping with the other half of the rolls.
The assembled sliders are brushed with melted butter, sprinkled with additional Parmesan cheese and garlic salt, then baked covered to heat through and allow the flavors to meld. Removing the foil for the last few minutes browns the top, creating a slightly crisp crust on the soft rolls. These sliders serve well as a casual meal, appetizer, or party snack, combining the ease of slow cooker preparation with baked cheesy goodness.
The recipe suggests flexibility in sauce choice, allowing for substitution with spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, or crushed tomatoes if preferred. Serving immediately while warm helps maintain the soft texture of the rolls and the gooey melted cheese.
