Crock Pot Creamed Corn
Description
This creamed corn recipe uses drained canned corn combined in a crock pot with milk, butter, cream cheese, sugar, salt, and pepper. The ingredients are gently stirred together at the start, and cream cheese and butter are added in chunks on top before cooking on high heat for 2-3 hours.
During cooking, the dairy ingredients melt and combine with the corn to form a creamy, slightly sweet casserole-style side dish. The low and slow cooking method softens the cheese and integrates the flavors without scorching. Once cooked, the ingredients are stirred to create a uniform creamy texture.
The dish is served warm and pairs well as an accompaniment to various proteins. Using canned corn provides convenience with consistent sweetness and texture year-round. This prepared side can be easily kept warm in the crock pot for serving.
