Crock pot Dill Pickle Pot Roast
Description
This one-pot recipe places a 4-pound beef roast in a crock pot along with brown gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, and both dill pickles and their juice from a jar. The combination of seasoning mixes and pickle juice boosts the roast with a complex tang and comforting umami. Cooking on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours slowly tenderizes the meat.
Once cooked, the roast is shredded with forks and returned to the cooking juices, absorbing the infused flavors fully. This approach results in moist, tender beef with a slightly tangy and herbal profile from the pickles and seasoning blends.
The dish pairs well with traditional sides and can be a flavorful centerpiece for a casual meal. The use of a crock pot makes the process hands-free and suited for preparing other tasks simultaneously.
