Crock Pot Hamburger Hashbrown Casserole Recipe

Report
This Crock Pot Hamburger Hashbrown Casserole blends browned ground beef, onions, frozen shredded hashbrowns, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and shredded cheeses. Cooked slowly in a crock pot, it results in a creamy, cheesy casserole with tender hashbrowns and seasoned beef, finished with an extra cheese topping melted just before serving.

Description

The recipe begins by browning and draining ground beef for a flavorful protein base. Chopped onions add moisture and savoriness. These combine with thawed frozen hashbrowns, cream of mushroom soups, milk, and black pepper to form a creamy mixture placed in the crock pot for slow cooking.

Cooking on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours gently mellows flavors and softens the potatoes without drying out. Adding shredded Colby and Monterey Jack cheese near the end allows a melty topping to develop, enriching the casserole with mellow, creamy cheese flavor and a pleasant texture contrast from the melted crust.

This slow cooker casserole offers an easy hands-off method yielding a warm, comforting, cheesy dish suitable as a family-friendly main course or bring-a-dish for gatherings. It pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables.
