Crock pot Hamburger Potato Casserole Recipe
Description
The Crock pot Hamburger Potato Casserole Recipe combines small potatoes, browned ground beef, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and shredded cheese in layers to cook slowly in a crock pot. The slow cooking softens the potatoes and melds the savory beef and creamy soup for a tender casserole. Cheese added at the layers and top melts into the rich mixture, providing a smooth and cheesy texture. This dish is cooked on high for 3-4 hours until the potatoes are tender and the casserole thickens slightly after resting.
The casserole’s flavor centers on the mild mushroom soup with savory beef and melty cheese, while the potatoes add substance and absorb the seasonings. It suits a main dish served alongside fresh vegetables or a salad. The slow cooker method makes it easy to prepare ahead or while attending to other tasks.
Letting the casserole cool briefly after cooking helps it thicken for easier slicing and serving. Use small potatoes for even cooking throughout the layers. Adjust salt and pepper to taste in the soup mixture.
