Crock Pot Hot Dogs
Description
Placing up to 52 hot dogs vertically in a 6-quart crock pot, this recipe uses slow, moist heat to warm hot dogs thoroughly without drying them out. Cooking on high for 2 to 3 hours ensures they are fully heated through. Afterward, the crock pot setting is lowered to keep the hot dogs warm without overcooking.
This technique streamlines preparing a large number of hot dogs for parties or events, allowing them to be served easily and kept at a safe and warm temperature for an extended time. The method does not involve added liquids, concentrating on the hot dogs' own moisture for cooking.
Ingredients
- 52 hotdog This is how many we were able to fit in a 6 quart crock pot. Fill yours up!
Instructions
- Place the hot dogs in the crock pot. We used a 6 quarter crock pot but you can use a larger crock pot as well. We put them in vertically and put however many you would like.
- Do NOT add water to the crock pot.
- Cook on high for 2-3 hours until all the hot dogs are warmed and cooked through.
- Then switch the crock pot to low to keep the hot dogs warm. This is great for parties!
