Crock Pot Make Ahead Turkey Recipe

This Crock Pot Make Ahead Turkey Recipe simplifies reheating a whole cooked turkey by using a slow cooker to warm slices in chicken broth. It starts with a seasoned and oven-cooked turkey placed in an oven bag, then sliced and stored for later reheating in broth to keep the meat moist and tender.

Description

The process begins by preparing and seasoning a whole turkey with melted butter, salt, and black pepper before roasting it in an oven bag according to package instructions. Once cooked and rested, the turkey is carved and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. To serve, turkey slices are placed into a six-quart slow cooker with chicken broth and heated on low for several hours until warmed through.

This make-ahead method helps maintain the turkey's moisture during reheating, preventing dryness common with leftover turkey. Using the slow cooker allows even warming suitable for serving at a later time or on a gathering day without immediate oven use.

Ideal for meal planning or holiday leftovers, the recipe yields approximately one pound of turkey per person, making it suitable for medium-sized gatherings. The technique supports advance preparation and simplified serving.
