Crock Pot Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Report
Crock Pot Mashed Potatoes offer a hands-off method to cook russet potatoes slowly with butter, garlic, milk, salt, and pepper until soft, then mashed to creamy consistency. This makes for a comforting side with a smooth texture and subtle garlic flavor, ideal for meals where slow cooking is convenient and fluffy mashed potatoes are desired.

Description

This recipe starts by peeling and chunking russet potatoes, then placing them in a crock pot with half the milk, butter pieces, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Cooking on high for several hours softens the potatoes gently. After cooking, the potatoes are mashed directly or removed to a bowl for mashing with an electric mixer, gradually adding remaining milk to reach the preferred texture. The result is creamy mashed potatoes infused with garlic and butter flavor.

The slow cooker method is useful when you want to prepare mashed potatoes without watching a stovetop. It pairs well with a variety of main dishes and can be served immediately after mashing for best texture.

  • 2 Cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter Cut into pieces
  • 1 Tbsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut your potatoes into chunks.
  2. Place the potatoes in the crock pot with 1 cup of the milk, salt, pepper, garlic and butter.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours until the potatoes are slightly soft.
  4. Then either remove the potatoes to a mixing bowl or mix in your crock pot if it has a ceramic liner (do not mix in a non-stick liner as it will scratch it).
  5. Mix well with an electric hand mixer. Slightly add in the last 1 cup of milk until the mashed potatoes are the consistency that you desire.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
