Crock pot Philly Cheesesteaks Sandwiches

Report
Crock Pot Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches slowly cook thinly sliced round steak with sliced onions and peppers along with garlic and Italian seasoning in beef stock. This results in tender, flavorful meat and vegetables which can be served hot on hoagie rolls topped with melted provolone cheese. The slow-cooker method melds the flavors and softens the ingredients for easy assembly.

Description

This recipe combines thinly sliced round steak with green and red bell peppers, sliced onions, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and beef stock in a crock pot. Cooking on low for six hours tenderizes the meat and softens the vegetables, infusing the mixture with seasoning. The resulting cooked filling is ready to spoon onto hoagie rolls.

The sandwich is assembled by placing the beef and vegetable mixture on hoagie rolls and topping with slices of provolone cheese. For melted cheese, the assembled sandwiches can be briefly placed under a broiler until the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned. This creates a classic Philly cheesesteak style sandwich with aromatic, tender meat and melted cheese.

These crock pot sandwiches are convenient for feeding a crowd or making ahead. The slow cooker method allows unattended cooking and results in juicy, soft meat and vegetables. They can be enjoyed with typical sides like chips or fries.

This recipe makes six sandwiches and is suited for informal meals where minimal active cooking time is preferred. The hoagie rolls provide a sturdy base to hold the ample filling and cheese.
