Crock Pot Ranch Mushrooms
Description
This recipe combines whole mushrooms with a butter mixture blended with dry Italian and ranch dressing mixes, creating a flavorful coating. Cooking the mushrooms on low in a crock pot for 3 to 4 hours softens them thoroughly while infusing the seasoning throughout. Stirring occasionally helps distribute flavors and ensures even cooking.
Common mushroom choices for this dish include cremini or white mushrooms, although button mushrooms can be used for smaller bites and greater quantity. Proper cleaning involves rinsing mushrooms and drying thoroughly with a paper towel to remove dirt without soaking them.
Ingredients
- 6 mushrooms 8 oz each, whole, washed, packages
- 1/2 c. butter melted
- .07 oz Italian salad dressing mix dry, package
- 1 oz Ranch dressing mix package
Instructions
- In a small bowl mix together melted butter, Italian Dressing Mix and Ranch Dressing Mix.
- Place mushrooms in crock pot and pour butter mixture over them.
- Cook on low 3-4 hours or until mushrooms are cooked through. Stir throughout cooking process.
Notes
- Cremini or white mushrooms are commonly used; button mushrooms can be substituted for smaller pieces and a larger quantity.
- To clean, rinse mushrooms gently and dry with paper towels to remove dirt; avoid soaking as mushrooms absorb water.
