Crock Pot Sausage Cheese Dip

Report
This Crock Pot Sausage Cheese Dip blends browned ground sausage with diced tomatoes and green chilies and melted Velveeta cheese into a creamy, warm dip. Slow cooking these ingredients together results in a rich and savory dish with a mild kick, perfect for casual gatherings or snacks. The dip's smooth texture and cheesy flavor make it suitable for serving with chips or crackers.

Description

Crock Pot Sausage Cheese Dip combines cooked ground sausage, diced tomatoes with green chilies, and Velveeta cheese in a crock pot. The sausage is browned to develop flavor and drained to remove excess fat before adding to the crock pot. Diced tomatoes with green chilies add a subtle heat and tang. Velveeta cheese melts slowly in the crock pot, binding the ingredients into a creamy and smooth dip.

The slow cooking over 2-3 hours on low allows flavors to meld well, and occasional stirring ensures even heating and melting. The dip is warm and gooey, ideal for serving at parties or as an appetizer. It pairs well with tortilla chips or crackers for dipping.

If a thinner consistency is preferred, stirring in half a cup of milk can adjust the dip after cooking. This dip relies on simple ingredients and slow cooking to achieve a comforting cheese and sausage blend, with little active preparation time.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 10 oz diced tomatoes with green chiles (Rotel)
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 32 oz Velveeta cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage in a skillet and drain the fat.
  2. Place in a small crock pot. I used a 3 quart crock pot.
  3. Place rotel on top.

  5. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Notes

  • Adding 1/2 cup of milk after cooking can thin the dip if desired.
